“I Believe”

June 30, 2018 - August 3, 2018
Reception: June 30, 2018 at 2-4PM
The Southern New England Artist Community

The Southern New England Artist Community is a diverse group of artists residing in Southeastern Massachusetts, who are dedicated to working together to produce engaging and thought provoking art shows in our communities.

“We believe that art is essential. We believe that self expression is healthy and holistic. In a time where there are many, often disturbing, distractions in our daily lives, we give the public a place to rest their eyes and enjoy art. In an age of ‘Fake News,’ everything we believe in is currently under assault. Science is under attack. Some people no longer believe the earth is a globe. Do people believe in anything anymore, including religion? Our faith, our values, belief systems, even our shared sense of facts are all under question. Human beings are looking inward and the data collection agencies are helping us to sharpen our Likes and Dislikes.”

SNAC, in this exhibition, will examine some of these divisive issues, and celebrate the simple belief in the importance of community art. We need Art, more than ever, to oppose the personal bias that is becoming our way of life. Art reflects our love, our beauty, our diversity, our innovation, our wonder, our search for truth and our individuality. “I believe.”

There will be a free opening reception on Saturday, June 30th from 2-4pm.
