Recorded at the gorgeous Blue Rock Studio in the Texas foothills, CALL ME LUCKY features longtime producer and multi instrumentalist David Goodrich, drummer Billy Conway (Morphine), Matt Lorenz (aka The Suitcase Junket), Mike Meadows, and engineer Keith Gary. The new record features Smither trademark songs that offer commentary on the human condition with a wink of an eye and pulls from deep in the soul. As we struggle to remember the specifics of a certain memory, some of the edges come into focus, sharp and well defined. Other details are hazy and remain tantalizing, just beyond our grasp. A photograph—presenting a two-dimensional representation of an exact moment in time—would seem to contain the truth of a memory, but often stands in opposition to our recollections. After a sold out show in 2014 at the Narrows, iconic British psychedelic rock legends The Zombies return to celebrate their long-awaited induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The band is still led by founding members Colin Blunstone (vocals) and Rod Argent (keyboards), alongside Steve Rodford on drums, renowned session guitarist Tom Toomey, and new member, Søren Koch, who joined the band following the untimely passing of The Zombies’ beloved bassist Jim Rodford (formerly of Argent and The Kinks) in early 2018. Mano a Mano is a band formed by the brothers André and Bruno Santos, two of the most refined Portuguese jazz guitar players. The duo started as a play group in their living room, which gradually became more serious along the way. They’ve now made their second album for which they composed and created well-polished musical arrangements, exploring the world of possibilities that two guitars can offer, also adding the Braguinha, a traditional instrument from their hometown of Madeira Island.
