The TeleDynes are a dynamic core trio of Electric Guitar, Upright Slap Bass and Drums. Focusing on Surf Rock and Rockabilly, drawing heavily from blues, country and swing to create their sound. What do you get when you combine a crooning bluegrass mandolin master, a veteran bassist, a fiddler who plays through fuzz boxes and wah-wah pedals, sounding more like Jimi Hendrix than Papa John Creach, and a big band swing drummer who inexplicably feels moved to pound the skins harder than John Bonham on a bender? Do you call it country, folk, bluegrass, rock ‘n’ roll, or maybe just a freak of nature?

Legendary Rhody band, The Schemers, make their return to the Narrows stage!
Formed and led by Mark Cutler in the late 1970s during the Punk/New Wave era, The Schemers were one of the finest bands to ever come out of New England. They were at the center of the Rhode Island original music scene and won the WBRU Rock Hunt and Boston’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble talent contests. The Jim Robitaille Trio performs original music and arrangements that express a wide scope of emotional elements and rhythmic dialects, generating atmospheres realized with a complete dynamic range from moving ballads to compositions displaying explosive energy.
The trio features Jim on electric and acoustic nylon string guitar along with bassist Bill Miele and drummer Chris Poudrier. The trio’s new recording on Whaling City Sound entitled Space Cycles, documents their ability to deeply listen to one another and create an empathetic and authentic interplay, culminating in an impassioned journey for the listener within the interpretation of each song.
