Just over 40 years ago a friendship was formed by three women who met in art school at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Throughout the years, these college friends, Ann Marie Walsh, Lynn Walsh and Janice Bowker, would live in many different places, and work a variety of jobs, all the while continuing to keep their artmaking and friendship alive and well.

In 2019 they would be “drawn together” once again in the art world, with all three friends working under the same roof at the Rhode Island School of Design Art Museum.

In this show, Drawn Together, each artist showcases their love of subject via the medium they feel best translates those observations.

Lynn “draws” on her skill of portraiture, having honed her drawing skills for twenty seven years in the Animation Industry for Film, Television and Commercials. (Image 4)

Janice whose love of hiking in nature and gardening has brought her observation of plant life onto paper with her abstract botanical drawings. (Image 3)

Ann Marie brings her love of travel and color to the canvas with her impressions via mixed media. (Image 3)

Three Women Artists… friends who were drawn together in College, and who still keep the fires of friendship going with their interests in art, nature, travel, and humanity.
