Please join the students and staff from the South Coast Creative Arts Lab (SCCAL) in showcasing their developing skills gleaned from their first semester as a part of this brand-new program! These talented students are a group of teacher-nominated 7th and 8th graders from the Fall River Public School District that were recommended based on their aptitude, attitude, and dedication for the Arts.

Students have participated in the SCCAL program at the Narrows Center since January 2023, guided by their respective program teachers Vicki Aarons and Dierdre Smith, with daily guided yoga and meditation with Vanessa Reis.

Throughout the first semester, the students in the Music Program have learned holistically about music and how to work as a group to produce music, with special guest instructors and technicians aiding them on their way to an appreciation and better practice in music.

The Visual Arts Program students have been able to delve into a world of new techniques and have been introduced to artistic materials none of them had ever used before. This program has enjoyed playing host to several guest artists that have been able to truly elevate the artistic instruction for this group of students.

Please join SCCAL’s students at the Reception on Tuesday, May 9th on the 3rd floor of the Narrows. Doors open at 4:00 PM and the reception is to begin at 4:15 PM. Light refreshments will be provided, no ticket necessary for entrance. The students look forward to seeing you!

Students from the Music program will perform songs that they have learned throughout this semester’s program. The artwork of the Visual Arts students will be on exhibition in the Narrows Café Gallery May 5th through May18th.
