This first time Narrows event will feature a scrumptious brunch provided by the excellent Pranzi Catering with a heavy dose of smokin blues. A great way to spend a Sunday morning/afternoon. The event will be limited to 140 people with table seating for everyone. Tickets must be purchased in advance and sales will stop on Friday March 21 at 3 pm. The brunch will be an all you can eat buffet with Fresh Fruit Salad, Scrambled Eggs, Croissant French Toast, Bacon, Breakfast Sausage, Chicken Francaise, Sweet Potatoes and Red Bliss Potatoes Home Fries, Assorted Breakfast Pastries and Bagels, Juice, Coffee and Tea. We will have a cash bar with Mimosa’s, Bloody Marys and Beer and Wine As a bandleader and composer, Stubbs has earned himself a reputation for penning soul-drenched Roots & Blues guitar instrumentals. His well-crafted songs are melodic and original; echoing the sounds of historic greats such as Booker T and the MGs, Earl Hooker, Lonnie Mack, and Freddie King. Blues guitarist Rick Holmstrom sums it up best: ‘The thing I like best about Matt Stubbs playing is that he leaves space. There are plenty of young blues guitarists who can play a whole lot of guitar, and Matt can hang with ’em all, but there are very few who understand that it’s important to let it breathe. I dig the economy and simplicity of Matt’s playing. He’s got an old soul.’ In addition to playing with The Charlie Musselwhite band, Stubbs has also toured and recorded with many top Blues and Soul acts such as Junior Watson, John Nemeth, Janiva Magness, Lynwood Slim, Brian Templeton and Sax Gordon. Dennis Brennan is soulful vocalist and harp player. With a whiskey soaked voice and a passion for the blues, Brennan can transform a room into a Delta roadhouse. This unique pairing of the Matt Stubbs Band with Dennis Brennan on vocals will surely please lovers of the blues.
