WinterStock 2022-A Benefit for Samaritans Southcoast

This is a free event with all donations benefitting Samaritans Southcoast.

Two summers ago, a group of local musicians began gathering in a back yard on the 3 Mile River in North Dighton, Ma. We lovingly named our festival “RiverStock”. We were in the middle of a lockdown, many music venues either closed or open with limited capacity. Over the last two years our little festival has outgrown the “hill on the river”, and has moved to new digs at the Swansea YMCA. We play music, pass the hat, and donate money to a variety of worthy causes. In an effort to have one “off season” event, RiverStock is proud to present our first WinterStock.

The lineup consists of Beth Barron, a duo “CarSon”, comprised of Fernando Carreiro, and Justin Sampson, another duo with Paula Clare, and Richard Ribb, “ Mutt & Jeff”, comprised of Probers frontman Manny Vincente, and guitarist Jeff Stanhope, and 3 Legged Dog with members Steve Rodrigues, Gerry Hailer, Mary Johnston, Chrissie Anderson, John Grube, and Joe “Hollywood” Mirra, with guest Tanya McIntyre, there will be a surprise guest or two along the way as well.

“Samaritans Southcoast suicide prevention hotline is open to all callers, 15 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our hotline is available free to anyone who needs support. Our volunteers are caring, compassionate, and trained listeners. Kare calls are made to seniors who might otherwise be lonely and isolated. In addition, Samaritan’s host Safe Place, a self-help support group for families and friends of those who have completed suicide. We provide outreach education about suicide prevention to school groups and organizations”.
