He did the legendary ‘Mad Dogs and Englishmen’ tour with Joe Cocker, who covered his song ‘Delta Lady.’ He wrote ‘This Masquerade,’ a hit for George Benson. He stole the show at ‘The Concert for Bangladesh’ with his renditions of ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’ and ‘Young Blood.’ He was all over the pop charts with his record ‘Tightrope’ from his classic album called ‘Carney,’ which features the original version of ‘This Masquerade.’ His song ‘Superstar’ was a hit for the Carpenters. He helped produce ‘Gary Lewis and the Playboys’ and was part of the legendary ‘Wrecking Crew’ studio team that played on everybody’s record coming out of the Left Coast (Glen Campbell was also a member).
